Salute to the Hair Bob

As we wait for Shear Genius to begin, I want to salute the hair style that revolutionized the way women began to wear their hair in the 20th century - the hair bob.

Yesterday's Hair Bob

First introduced during World War 1, this hairstyle quickly became a fad among young women. The popularity of the bob eventually led to new curling, perming and coloring methods. Click on this wonderful website to learn more about the history of this hair cut. It remains popular to this day, as you can see from Linda Wells' hairstyle in the previous post.

The Inside Scoop

While you are waiting with held breath to see if the "Top/Project" formula works for hair, run to your nearest newstand and pick up the April issue of Allure. Editor Linda Wells talks about her experience being a guest judge for an episode of Shear Genius. There are some interesting tidbits and teaser's there...things that could be really hysterical or just plain awful.

So it looks as though Allure has the sponsorship on this series. Hmmm....I wonder if the winner gets a spread in Allure? Yah think?

Shear Genius Is Coming April 11!

Stay tuned after the finale of Top Design on Bravo at 11:00 p.m. on April 11. Watch the fun with host Jaclyn Smith, judges Michael Car, Rene Fris, and Sally Hershberger, and twelve hair stylists ready to blow, cut, and style their way to the top!
