Snipped: Au Revoir, Paul-Jean

Last night we said hello…and good-bye to Paul-Jean, 29, from West Hollywood, CA.

Paul-Jean started off well enough in the Short-Cut challenge, his signature cut was ranked third behind Daisy’s and Tyson’s and was actually judge Jaclyn Smith’s favorite. In fact, in her blog, Jaclyn describes Paul-Jean’s cut as “a classic beautiful cut.”

Unfortunately, that’s where Paul-Jean’s good fortune ends.

The elimination challenge was all about creating hair art. Paul-Jean created something, alright, but it sure wasn’t art.

Paul-Jean believes that beauty emanates from the core of one’s being. And there was, indeed, something emanating from his model. Unfortunately, it looked more like the aftermath of a forest fire than beauty.

Sorry, Paul-Jean. But when you do this to a beautiful model…you’ve made your final cut.

Guess you won’t have to worry about closet space after all, eh?

Agreed, Laz - that do was a BIG don't (sorry, I had to). Plus, his dissing Rene made him just ripe for the snipping.

Did anyone else think his little goodbye speech was really awkward? I hope they don't all do that.

Also, what's with everyone on the show having (sometimes indeterminate) accents? They really went all out finding the "characters" this time, didn't they?

SO glad to see Frenchie Frenchinton gone. How boring would that attitude have gotten?

I completely disagree. His first haircut was beautiful and earned him a place in the top 3. His bio and interview shows what a charming man and attentive hair stylist he is.

I was really sad to see him go.

I'm somewhat torn; he did have a bit of an attitude, especially towards Rene, but contestants with attitude are what reality shows thrive on!

He actually did strike me as a talented stylist and when he wasn't throwing attitude he did seem like a nice guy. I'm sure it would've been nice to have had the chance to get to know him but he took too large a chance & it just didn't pay off.

I think Paul-Jean is kind of cute. So, he gets points for that. And, yeah, he had an attitude, but he is a male hair stylist; doesn't that (often) come with the territory. I agree with Laz; he did seem talented, but lady luck wasn't on his side. I'm so glad the producers decided to pick a diverse bunch for this show. Let's hope things get more exciting.

I actually thought that Paul Jean was going to bitch slap the judges when he walked up to them. I think the one with the attitude is Tabatha. I wouldn't put it past her to bitch slap anyone, the woman scares me! As for the judges...I thought that Jaclyn Smith & Sally Hershberger were pretty damn rude while judging the Short-Cut challenge. The way they laughed and made fun of some of the stylists cuts, was like watching The Real Housewives of Orange County making fun of someone who only has one house, two cars and wears a two carat diamond.

(((MUAH)))

What a shocker! The arrogant one goes home first. But in this group, there's plenty of personality left for a good reality show.

HoinMo -

Totally agree re: Jaclyn and Sally being way mean during the shortcut challenge. What was up with that?

Also agree re: Tabitha. She's scary - but I TOTALLY love her! I can't wait to see what she's going to do next.

Kudos to Bravo for having really wild and crazy (also talented?) contestants this time around.
