Tabatha: "The episode is called hair of the dog? Son of a bitch! I told you we were going to have to give haircuts to dogs! I just knew it! What further indignities will I have to endure?"
Relax! I just made up that title. You won't really have to give a haircut to a dog ... this week.
The real title of this week's episode is "Freak to Greek." the geniuses have to take a bunch of long-haired weirdos and make them look like shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis.

"He kills the Reverend Mother and rides a worm off into the sunset of Arrakis"
OMG, no you didn't!
LMAO
(((MUAH)))
This recap was worth its weight in Lols. :)
Seriously, as you also observed, Tyson's hair was NOT Elizabethan...and that's that.
I would have died laughing, though, if the model had come out in some hideous pastel number with helmet-hair, a clutch purse, and a horrible matchy-matchy little hat.
Great recap, eric3k! You managed to reference Dune and BSG in one made up name.
Next week: Anthony is auf'd, but Tab continues to see & relate to Head!Anthony! I knew she was a cylon!
littlegeek = macasism. Sometimes I forget where I'm posting.
Rene says something about Ewoks. I don't know what he's talking about:
Love it. I didn't understand a word he said this week and there is no one here to translate.
i don't get any of your references! but that's okay because your recap was STILL great, and i haven't even seen the shortcut quickfire elimination part!
my historical senses went fucking haywire nuts when tyson's elizabethan waltzed out there. boogie's medieval look didn't strike me as entirely medieval (it just wasn't EVIL enough) though i loved it and would kill for someone to come braid my hair like that every day.
i wondered, too, where the judges got their "historical" style info from. because you're right, though i hadn't tried to place it: tyson's do was much more 18th century then 16th century.
also, queen elizabeth 1 still has that late medieval/renaissance plucked forehead thing going on, which neither tyson nor boogie addressed. to me, the high forehead is THE SINGLE MOST striking hairstyle feature from before, oh, 1700. that, and the elaborate medieval headdresses worn by upper-class women.
(if my art history class was correct, the high forehead and plucked-ness was supposed to make the woman's face look like a pearl)
I love you forever for hitting on absolutely every part of this episode that drove me crazy
kbryna,
Rent David Lynch's Dune or, better yet, read Frank Herbert's novel. My favorite!
And yeah, when Tyson announced that he knew exactly what to do, Eric and I both thought, "Oh, my god, he's going to shave her forhead!" Fortunately, he didn't do that!
As usual, this was funny and spot on. Would have loved to see him try to shave her forehead! Talk about panic!
The fun never ends with you. You always make my week. Thanks!!
